Celebrating Elaine’s 15-Year Journey

At Westpac PNG, we’re all about belonging.

Fifteen years ago, Elaine Likky stood at a crossroads. Her dream of becoming a surgeon had slipped away, but little did she know Westpac would become her canvas to heal communities instead of bodies.

In 2010 at Westpac's Kimbe Branch, Elaine discovered banking’s profound human impact and how a single transaction could uplift a family. From then on, her journey blossomed, transferring to Boroko as a Goldcard Teller, exploring global finance in our International Department, and mastering customer resilience at the Call Centre. But Elaine's defining moment came in the Highlands, as an Innovation Hub Field Officer, where she brought banking technology to remote villages.

Now, as Retail Assurance & Compliance Team Leader, Elaine safeguards the trust she once nurtured in those highland communities. "God’s plan was greater," she smiles, "Westpac let me heal financial struggles instead of physical ones." Through every turn, Elaine’s story shows how great careers are discovered through service, not just built by ambition.

Her journey is a testament to our ongoing promise, reinforcing our commitment to backing career growth and creating opportunities for our staff to thrive. Because at Westpac, we’re all about belonging and your impact will always be seen and valued.
